How EMMA Works

Create sounds, songs, lyrics, stems, chords, and cloud projects from one music workspace.

EMMA is built for production workflows. Generate a Serum 2 preset, split stems, write lyrics, create full songs, export MIDI, or save finished audio into Cloud Library.

Quick Start

1. Create an account and sign in.

2. Choose a tool from the EMMA sidebar.

3. Write a clear prompt or upload audio when the tool requires it.

4. Review the result, download files, or save audio to Cloud Library.

Tools

Sound Design

Create Serum 2 presets from plain-language sound design prompts.

5 credits

Use For

  • Bass, lead, pluck, pad, arp, sub, atmosphere, and effect sounds.
  • Serum 2 presets that can be downloaded and loaded in your DAW.
  • Sound ideas built from scanned Serum 2 factory values instead of invented names.

How It Works

  1. 1. Describe the sound you want.
  2. 2. EMMA chooses compatible Serum 2 oscillators, wavetables, filters, effects, LFOs, macros, and modulation.
  3. 3. Download the `.SerumPreset` file and open it in Serum 2.

Example Prompts

Make a deep progressive house bass with sub weight.

Create a bright supersaw lead for a festival drop.

Make a warm analog pluck with short reverb.

Stems

Separate uploaded audio into a 5-stem package.

10 credits

Use For

  • Remixes and bootlegs.
  • Reference study.
  • Extracting vocals, drums, bass, instrumental, and other material for DAW work.

How It Works

  1. 1. Upload an audio file.
  2. 2. EMMA uploads it through the secure server proxy.
  3. 3. The backend forces the safe 5-stem Mureka model and returns the separated files.

Example Prompts

Separate this track for remix prep.

Extract the vocal and instrumental from this song.

Split this reference so I can study the arrangement.

Chords

Generate chord progressions and MIDI starting points.

3 credits

Use For

  • Starting a new song.
  • Finding fresh harmonic movement.
  • Creating MIDI ideas for production sessions.

How It Works

  1. 1. Choose key and major/minor when needed.
  2. 2. Describe the mood or genre.
  3. 3. Download the MIDI and use it in your DAW.

Example Prompts

Uplifting melodic house chords in F major.

Dark emotional chords in A minor.

Nostalgic dance-pop chords with a hopeful chorus.

Music Studio

Generate full songs from a prompt, with optional reference audio.

15 credits, or 20 with reference audio

Use For

  • Prompt-to-song creation.
  • Instrumental or vocal song ideas.
  • Generating tracks that can be saved to Cloud Library.

How It Works

  1. 1. Write the song idea in the prompt box.
  2. 2. Use optional key and BPM controls if you want to guide the result.
  3. 3. EMMA uses the budget-safe V9/Mureka path, strips genre and mood tags, and sends only the prompt-based request.
  4. 4. After generation, save the result to Cloud Library when you want to keep it.

Example Prompts

Make a song similar to Avicii energy, beach themed.

Create emotional dance-pop with a bright summer chorus.

Make a moody instrumental house idea with piano.

Lyrics Studio

Generate professional song lyrics or write lyrics manually.

5 credits

Use For

  • Creating structured lyrics from a theme.
  • Editing lyrics before Music Studio generation.
  • Exporting lyrics to a text file.

How It Works

  1. 1. Choose AI Generate or Write Manually.
  2. 2. Describe the song you want.
  3. 3. AI generation uses Mureka first and can fall back to Groq when configured.
  4. 4. Edit the result or export it as TXT.

Example Prompts

A bittersweet summer breakup song.

A confident dance-pop anthem about starting over.

Lyrics for a beach-themed song with an uplifting hook.

Cloud Library

Save, play, edit, version, and organize songs and uploaded audio.

No generation credits

Use For

  • Keeping generated songs after Music Studio finishes.
  • Uploading finished or draft audio.
  • Managing versions, key, BPM, title, and folder information.

How It Works

  1. 1. Projects show like albums by default.
  2. 2. Open a project to see tracks and metadata.
  3. 3. Use edit mode only when you want to update details.
  4. 4. Upload a new version and the version number is saved automatically.

Example Prompts

Save a generated track to Cloud Library.

Upload a new version of a demo.

Organize songs by genre folder.

Best Practices

Start with the exact output you want: bass preset, full song, lyric, chord progression, or stem separation.
For Music Studio, write the full creative direction in the prompt. EMMA does not rely on hidden genre or mood selectors.
For Serum 2, include the sound type, genre context, tone, movement, and whether you need sub weight, width, or effects.
For lyrics, describe the theme, perspective, emotional direction, and any section style you want.
For stems, upload the cleanest source file you have. Better source audio creates better separation results.

Production Notes

The app uses secure server routes for uploads, audio playback, external API calls, Music Studio request shaping, and stems. Development bypasses and mock outputs are disabled in production.

Keep In Production

Upload proxy, audio proxy, allowlisted external proxy, Music Studio proxy, stems wrapper, credit checks, and Cloud Library routes.

Keep Off In Production

Local auth bypass, mock Music Studio outputs, MIDI WebSocket bridge, and all test mode environment flags.
